The public URL Hawk site works without setting any tracking cookies. Shortening a link and following a short link both work with no cookie at all.

Our hosting platform may set strictly necessary technical cookies, for example for load balancing or security challenges. These are essential for the site to function and do not identify you.

Both categories are functional. Neither is shared with third parties or used for advertising.

• A session cookie to keep you signed in to your account. Strictly necessary, expires when your session ends or you log out.
• A preference cookie if we add settings worth remembering, such as a dismissed banner.

Link click counts are collected server side without cookies. If we ever introduce site analytics that require cookies or equivalent identifiers, we will ask for consent first and update this notice before they go live.

We do not run third party advertising or social tracking pixels. If a future feature embeds third party content, for example a payment form for paid plans, that provider may set its own strictly necessary cookies, and we will name the provider here.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, blocking cookies should not stop you shortening or following links, although signing in will not work without the session cookie once accounts launch.

If our use of cookies changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
